Marshfield Man Sentenced for Drug Charges

Monday, July 7th, 2014 -- 1:40 PM

-A Marshfield man was sentenced in Wood County Court on Monday for drug charges.

25-year-old Jordan Staab had numerous drug charges filed against him, including maintaining a drug trafficking place and delivering heroin, after he sold heroin to an undercover agent three times. He also had charges of bail jumping filed against him as he was caught with drugs on multiple occasions.

Finally, he had a charge of 2nd recklessly endangering safety filed against him as well because Staab had nearly caused the overdose death of someone he sold heroin to.

For the three cases, Staab was sentenced to a total of 3 years in prison and 5 years of extended supervision. He must also pay court costs and restitution.

During the sentencing hearing, the state requested a harsher sentence than what was suggested in the Pre-Sentencing Investigation. The defense attorney asked for lesser, saying his client is willing to accept the consequences of his actions. Staab himself repeated that sentiment saying he was sorry for the pain he caused his family and was ready to take full responsibility for his actions.
