Marshfield Police Had to Smash SUV Window to Free Child Locked Inside

-A Marshfield Police Officer had to smash the window of a SUV this past Sunday after a girl had been accidentally locked inside.The 4-year-old girls? mother accidentally locked her in the vehicle just outside their apartment. The mother said she tried to break the window three times before she used her phone to call for help.
Temperatures that afternoon were in 80?s with sunny skies and some humidity.
The child was sweating and showing signs of overheating when the police arrived around 5:30 on Sunday, but, when she was freed, she didn?t need medical treatment.
The Marshfield Police Department said that it?s actually rare for them to break a window in order to get a child from a vehicle.
