Cadott Man Sentenced for Bomb Threats

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 -- 12:22 PM

-A Cadott man who threatened to blow up two government offices in Eau Claire was sentenced on Wednesday of last week.

Thomas Danielson called the Unemployment Office in Eau Claire earlier this year to complain about the child support being taken out of his unemployment check.

Danielson was very angry and said he was going to blow up the building and the one containing child support. He also left a threatening voicemail.

Danielson was charged with bomb scares, battery to a workforce development employee, unlawful phone use, disorderly conduct and bail jumping. He was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, to all the charges except the battery charge, which was deferred.

Danielson was sentenced to 30 days in jail, but was given the option of serving that by completing 240 hours of community service. An additional 60 days of jail time was stayed, but only if he successfully completes the community service. He also owes the courts almost $1,000.
