-The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a fire in the Township of Weston on Monday evening.According to the department, they received a call around 9:20pm about smoke in the basement of a home at N5961 River Avenue.
When the department arrived, they discovered that the motor in a fan running in the basement had overheated and burned, melting the plastic fan. They used 5 gallons of water to extinguish it.
The department found another fan and used it to blow the smoke out of the basement. There was no damage to the home.
The department was on scene around 20 minutes, there were no injuries and they had called the Greenwood Fire Department for assistance, but cancelled the call after they discovered the source of the smoke.
