-We know that dairy in Clark County is big, but just how big is it?The average American consumes 604.5 pounds of milk and other dairy products each year. Clark County dairy farmers produce about 1.3 billion pounds of milk each year. That means that Clark County is responsible for producing enough milk to feed 2,183,622 people.
You can enjoy these dairy products and celebrate June Dairy month by attending one of the county?s many dairy breakfasts. This Sunday, the Greenwood Dairy Breakfast will be held at the Pete and Jeanne Opelt Farm on Mann Road south of Greenwood, off of Highway 73, from 7am to 1pm.
These breakfasts are sponsored in part by Clark County Dairy Promotion. For more information on promoting dairy products in Clark County contact the Clark County UW-Extension Office.
