Owen City Council hears CDA Report

The Owen City Council heard the CDA Report at their meeting last week.CDA Director Tim Swiggum reported on the Badgerland Surveys. He said the Breadlau property has been surveyed and the Dollar General will be soon.
He also mentioned the community garden. Twelve gardens have been planted as well as 16 apple and 10 cherry trees giving the area a park like effect. Kerry Ingredients donated the water containers for the park and the city is helping with keeping them full. For only the second year, the gardens are really taking off.
Mr. Swiggum also mentioned that Upscale Resale closed, but a potential new business is thinking about filling the vacancy.
Finally, he said that they?re still waiting on the CN resolution to move forward with the Railroad property, which should happen soon and the Jim Louks investment is still in the works.
