Person Killed in Black River Falls Fire Identified

-The person killed in a fire in a Black River Falls home on Sunday evening has been identified.According to the Black River Falls Fire Department, the fire occurred just after 9pm at a home on Fillmore Street in the city of Black River Falls.
The department received a report of smoke coming from the home and that one person was believed to be inside. When the department arrived, fire was venting out a large window as was heavy black smoke.
The department did locate an individual inside the home, but, unfortunately, 84-year-old Margie Johnson was already deceased.
There is heavy fire damage to the home, owned by Norman and Maggie Johnson, as well as heat and smoke damage. It is believed that the fire was caused by lightning based on evidence at the home and other homes in the area reported no power or damaged electrical items.
