Public Works & Officer's Reports At Neillsville City Council

Saturday, June 14th, 2014 -- 7:31 AM

The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works and Officer?s Report during their meeting on Tuesday.
Public Works Director Dave Flynn talked about the usual amount of work done in the city including cemetery, parks and equipment maintenance, hauling brush and compost, cleaning storm drains, street sweeping, clean brush off of the fountain in O?Neill Creek, preparing for crack sealing, replacing curb and gutter were water main replacement occurred over the winter due to breaks and more.

Dave also mentioned that they?re not picking up people?s brush or limbs if they do ward work. He said they may do it if they have a slow day or it?s raining, but they are not making a point of doing it now. He said they?re currently not manned for it and if you do the work, you need to clean up the debris yourself. The purchase of a new lawn mower for the sewer plant was also approved and sent to the common council where it was approved again.
For the Officer?s Report, Chief Brad Lindner said that Officer Aumann will return to work after his Nation Guard Summer training ends on Monday. Chief Lindner was also selected to tour Fort McCoy which he found very informative. He also said that Officer Sawislan attended Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement training and Neillsville Police Department assisted with traffic control for Memorial Day Services.
