Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Grass Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a grass fire just before Noon today.
According to the department, they received a call of a grass fire around 11:54am today at N1525 Clark Avenue in the Township of Levis. The owner was burning in a burn barrel when the fire got out of the barrel, burnt some grass, and then got into a pine plantation and burned around 1.5 acres.
An occupant of the home was taken to Marshfield Medical Center for smoke inhalation. The department was on scene for an hour and fifteen minutes, they had no injuries on their part, and they received mutual aid from the Wisconsin DNR.
