Marshfield Intersection Open Again
Thursday, June 12th, 2014 -- 10:22 AM
-The intersection at Maple Avenue in Marshfield has reopened. The intersection was reopened Wednesday after being closed for the past three weeks. The closure was part of a study as three different vehicles crashed into trains at the intersection this past winter.
The state Railroad Commission has suggested closing the intersection for good in order to prevent any more injuries. This study helped determine how drivers would get around the intersection if the permanent closure happened.
City officials said the study did its job and a lot of people were talking about it. It was also made clear that people want the intersection to remain open.
The city plans on having another meeting with the State Railroad Commissioner.
