Jackson County Man Sentenced for Child Abuse

-A Jackson County man was sentenced on Tuesday for hitting an 18-month-old child over a video game.At the end of July of 2013, Christian Cloud, age 21, was watching his son and he told authorities that while he was playing video games on his Xbox, his son started to play with the console.
Cloud said that he hit the boy, forcefully picked him up and threw him on the couch. He also told authorities that he may have shaken his son, but he claims he was so angry he doesn?t remember doing it.
Cloud was found guilty due to a no contest plea to the felony child abuse charge in April of this year. Cloud was sentenced to 3 years? probation and 1 year in jail, but the jail time was stayed as long as he successfully completes his probation. He also owes the courts over $900.
