Wisconsin FFA Foundation Passes Half-Million Dollar Mark in Donations

Monday, June 2nd, 2014 -- 11:07 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -When the Wisconsin FFA Convention kicks-off in Madison next week, the achievements of student members and local chapters will not be the only reason to celebrate.

The Wisconsin FFA Foundation, which is the fundraising arm of the state's FFA program, announced on Friday that it has surpassed its campaign goals for the year, and went over the half-million dollar mark in total gifts and sponsorships for the first time ever.

"We are proud of what this translates to for our FFA members," said Foundation Board President Julie Larson. "There is tangible evidence of the additional opportunities these increased financial resources provide. For example, they are directly responsible for additional activities at the State FFA Convention such as the Rally to Fight Hunger and the Alumni Seminar, to name a few."

She adds that the current year's campaign raised 20-percent more than last year and $25,000 over this year's goal of $475,000, with the final campaign deadline being two weeks away.
