Owen-Withee School Board Reviews Impact of Principal vs. Dean of Students Position

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed employment matters at their recent meeting.In executive session the Board discussed what should be done with the Dean of Students vs a principal option as current Jr./Sr. High School Dean of Students Brian Lewison has asked to be allowed to move into the Jr./Sr. High Social Studies teaching position.
The Board reviewed the financial impact of continuing with a Dean of Students or going back to having a principal. After reconvening in open session the Board voted to offer 2014-15 teaching contracts to Dan Mears and Brian Lewison.
They also approved a resolution to post the Dean of Students to interested candidates with strong preference to candidates who are currently enrolled in an Educational Leadership program or who have completed such program.
Finally, the board read several thank you cards during the communications portion of the meeting including one from an elementary school parent for the after school program, a thank you from Candy Rabska for the retirement plaque and the opportunity to teach in the district, a thank you from the 2013-14 boys basketball team and thank you cards created by the 4thgrade students, thanking the Board for the opportunity to go to Madison.
