-A former Auburndale man had his plea hearing, for his part in a drug bust that occurred at the end of 2013, cancelled, as he seeks a new attorney.Back in November, 25-year-old Aaron Keuntjes, formerly of Auburndale, and 23-year-old Alyssa Clapper, of Marshfield, were arrested during two separate traffic stops after Marshfield Police discovered 11.5 pounds of marijuana. Some of the marijuana was laced into chocolate candy.
Keuntjes was supposed to plea to the charges filed against him on Tuesday in Wood County Court. However, the plea hearing was cancelled and a pre-trial conference was set after Keuntjes? attorney withdrew herself from the case. Another attorney is already set to take over. The judge agreed to the motion, but said that this being the third time a jury trial and/or plea has been pushed back, Keuntjes must enter a plea, if he chooses to do so, a day before the trial begins.
The state also requested a higher bond due to the fact the court cases continue to get pushed back, but the judge left it at $10,000. Keuntjes? associate, Clapper, was sentenced to 3 years? probation on three of the four counts she was found guilty of for her part in the crime.
