Loyal School Board May Meeting

Employment matters were discussed at the Loyal School Board Meeting on Wednesday evening.The board approved the hiring of Trevor Odeen as the new 7th-12th grade Ag Teacher, Mike Rueth as the Summer Recreation Director, Mike and Brenden Collins as the Summer Groundskeepers at $8 an hour and Kris Anderson as the Summer Swim Bus Chaperone at $8.50 an hour.
The board also had the second reading of the Full-Time Student Policy, Section 504 Plan Policy, and Rules of Order Policy. They also approved the 2014-15 school calendar, approved a volleyball co-op with Granton, and approved a 1.46% increase in all staff salaries for the next school year.
Some other items the board approved include a 5 year bus contract with a company from Greenwood, a $.05 increase in lunch prices, approved the $18 per student, with a max of $36 per family, summer recreation fee, discussed the fact that the Loyal District has about $244,000 worth of facility and technology upgrades and discussed the recent bronze rating the Loyal School District received in a U.S. News and World Report.
