Owen City Council Approves Mayoral Appointments

-The Owen City Council approved several mayoral appointments during their meeting last week.Rick Koplitz was appointed to the Sewer Commission as a Owen representative, Richard Goessl was appointed to the Police Discipline Committee as a Withee resident and Gladys Rennie and Jim Scheuer were appointed as election officials.
The council approved the application for an Operator?s Licenses to Julie Ostreich and Sherri Kramburg, pending completion of server?s training course, and denied an application to Dawn Kwick. They also denied the appeal by Gunner Bernitt for an Operator?s License, with one council member abstaining from the vote.
Finally, the council heard the CDA Report from CDA Director Tim Swiggum. He reported that Acosta Foods now owns the former 11th Frame Building and will provide Mexican food service and the DNR trail grant was denied to the city due to the Clark County Outdoor Recreation Plan being expired. It will be applied for again next year. Finally, he said that Louks has run into a delay with the bank and a cheese facility is interested in the Agri Business Park.
