Employment/Programs Discussed At Owen-Withee Board Meeting
Saturday, May 17th, 2014 -- 7:26 AM
Employment matters and the reassignment of a new program were discussed at the Owen-Withee School Board meeting on Monday. The Board discussed offering a teaching contract to Mr. Dan Mears for either an elementary teaching position or the Jr/Sr High Social Studies position that is open.
The Board tabled any action on this issue until the Dean of Students issue, which was discussed in Executive session, is resolved.
Also, with the retirement of Mrs. MaryAnn Smasal this June, the board was contemplating what to do with the computer graphics classes.
Because the proposal that was most cost effective was to move some of her courses from the art department to the business education department it was felt that the Board should approve this as curriculum change.
The Board unanimously approved having Ms. Julie Kodl teach the Computer Graphics I and Computer Graphics II courses as part of the business education department.
