Thursday, May 8th, 2014 -- 8:15 AM
-The Marshfield Clinic is going to phase out its nurse care coordination program. The Marshfield Clinic initially started the program around three years ago. The program was designed to reduce the amount of medical care needed by individuals with complex health problems.
The clinic reviewed the program recently and found that they no longer had the ability to support the program. Initially, they were receiving shared savings through the Medicare Physician Group Practice Demonstration Project.
The elimination of the program will occur over the next two months and will allegedly save the clinic several million dollars.
The clinic?s sickest patients will be impacted the most by the loss of this program.
