Lightning Causes Barn Fire North of Stratford

-A bolt of lightning caused a barn fire north of Stratford on Wednesday.The fire was reported by a neighbor around 10am on Wednesday on the 1700 block of Rock Road northeast of Stratford.
Not only did Stratford?s fire chief say the fire was caused by lightning, but the neighbor that reported it concurred as the breakers in her home had been knocked out as well.
The fire destroyed the barn as well as 450 bales of hay, horse bridles, saddles and equipment. The horses and cats in the barn were able to escape.
