General Inland Game Fish Season Opens
Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 -- 8:08 AM
Wisconsin's general inland game fish season opens today, and anglers will find many lakes in northern Wisconsin still have significant ice cover.Lakes are mostly free of ice now from about Highway 8 South. Lakes to the north of there still have up to 15 inches of ice, which is however not considered safe for any form of travel or ice fishing.
Nearly all rivers and streams are open, but they are running high due to snowmelt and rains.
