Spencer Woman Sentenced for Stealing the Credit Card of a Nursing Home Resident

-A Spencer woman was sentenced on Monday for stealing the credit card of a resident at a nursing home.34-year-old Crystal Schillinger entered a guilty plea to felony charges of theft and misappropriating identification information to obtain money.
Schillinger worked at Touch of Home Nursing Home when she took the credit card belonging to an 87-year-old woman with dementia who lived at the home. Schillinger then used the card from last July until late September to pay over $1,500 on a utility bill and to pay some veterinary bills.
Schillinger was caught after the residents? power of attorney went to the police to report charges that the woman had not made.
Schillinger was sentenced to 30 days in jail and four years? probation. She must also pay $3,000 in restitution and have no job that involves vulnerable adults.
