Marshfield Man Breaks Into Marshfield Business Early Tuesday Morning

-A 19-year-old man started a fire in a Marshfield business early Tuesday morning.According to the Marshfield Police Department, Michael Straka broke into Avalon on 4th Street around 1am on Tuesday, set off the alarm and started a fire.
Initially, the man was not in custody so a perimeter was created so crews could fight the fire. Straka had tried to evacuate out a window, but stopped when he saw police. After he surrendered, fire crews were able to get into the building to make sure the fire was out.
No one was injured in the incident, the fire was contained to one room and the merchandise in that room was destroyed. There was also smoke damage. There were apartments above the store and one person was evacuated.
Authorities are going to recommend charges to the Wood County District Attorney?s office that include burglary, arson and failure to comply with an officer.
