The Highground's 3rd Annual Vietnam Reunion/Education Gathering is Being Held Next Weekend
Saturday, April 19th, 2014 -- 6:33 AM-The Highground is hosting its 3rd Annual Vietnam Reunion/Education Gathering on April 26th, at 2:00 pm in the Learning Center.
All Vietnam Veterans and their families are invited to join in for an afternoon of remembrance and education. All veterans are invited to share their ?story?, which will be video recorded and archived in the Highground?s library for future generations, with approval of course.
The gathering is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend. Come meet some of the brave men and women who stepped way outside of the safety and comfort of home to ensure that those of us here could continue to have the freedoms we do.
Special guest this year is Steve Conto; he is the author of The Final Bridge. The Final Bridge is a collection of the final resting place of all of our WI KIA?s from Vietnam. Steve has spent several years researching and locating the graves of each and every one. Not only does he locate and document their locations, he visits each one with his trimmer, bucket & sponge, flag, camera and notepad. Steve will clean each site to pristine condition place a new flag and then photograph and write a short story on the journey to find them or about who they were.
If you?d like to attend, please RSVP with The Highground.
