Friday, April 11th, 2014 -- 10:49 AM
-The city of Thorp had to deal with some angry phone calls on Thursday due to a train sitting abandoned in the city for nearly 6 hours. The half-mile long train was first noticed around 7:30am on Thursday, just sitting on the Canadian National Railway track that goes through Thorp.
Nearby businesses started making calls later that morning because semis were unable to get by the train which was blocking Cemetery Street and another road outside the city limits.
The city contacted the railway and was told the crew had run out of hours and they were looking for another crew to get the train running. The train did finally start moving around 1:30 in the afternoon on Thursday.
