(WDLB) -The manager of the Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield has announced her resignation.Heidi Born-Smith said Tuesday she would be leaving the post later this month.
Heidi said, "I'm doing this for personal and private reasons, the reasons I'm leaving, and I hope everyone can respect that. But, I just want to let everybody know that I've enjoyed working here this past year. Its just been over a year. It's a wonderful place to work. People that I've met in the community are just fantastic. I've had great support. I want the fair to succeed and continue and be able to provide top notch entertainment. I think we're known in the state as being one of the best fairs, county fairs. Honestly, I'm going to be sad that I'm leaving, but it's all good. The fair will continue and we're going to have a good fair this year."
Born-Smith will stick around long enough to help nail down some of this year's attractions. Born-Smith took the job in January of last year, and oversaw just one fair as manager.
Meanwhile, she will hold a 1:30 news conference today to announce the grandstand line-up for this summer's six-day fair.
