Monday, March 24th, 2014 -- 8:19 AM
-A plea hearing is scheduled for a Medford woman accused of leaving a dog and two cats behind when she moved out of her home.Authorities went to Callie Neuman's former house after a neighbor called police because a dog was barking and no one lived there. Police say the floor was covered with feces, urine and garbage.
The animals were taken to the Humane Society. A veterinarian said the Great Dane was a little underweight, but overall healthy. Both cats were OK.
The 29-year-old Neuman is charged with three counts of failing to provide proper food for confined animals. Her plea hearing is June 9.
Neuman said she couldn't bring the animals when she moved, but she had been giving them food and water.
