Medford Man Appears in Taylor County Court for Standoff

-A Medford man appeared in Taylor County Court on Tuesday for causing a standoff with the Taylor County Sheriff?s Department and multiple other agencies.According to the Taylor County Sheriff?s Department, they received a report around 12:45pm, at the end of January, that a man entered a residence and fired a weapon through a window. After authorities arrived, a one hour standoff ensued. Authorities were able to make contact with the man, identified as 42-year-old Timothy Phillips of Medford. He said he was going to commit suicide by cop. Finally, authorities persuaded him to come out of the home, drop the weapon and surrender.
Phillips has been charged with second degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting an officer, operating a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct.
During his initial appearance on Tuesday, Phillips entered a not guilty plea to the misdemeanor charges which include resisting an officer, operating a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct. Phillips? bond was continued and he?ll appear in court again in April.
