UPDATE: Man Hit by Train in Marshfield Identified

-A Marshfield man was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a train.According to the Marshfield Police Department, they responded to a call around 9:45pm on Tuesday night that said a man had been hit by a train at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Vine Street.
When police arrived, they found 62-year-old Melvin Weis? body on the side of the tracks. Weis had been traveling to a nearby convenience store to buy cigarettes.
The crossing guards went down as the train approached, but witnesses say that Weis looked at the train at least twice before deciding to try and beat it. Weis went around the guards, slipped, fell and couldn?t get up in time to get out of the way of the train.
