51st Eau Claire Farm Show, Part 1

-North Country Enterprises is hosting the 51st Eau Claire Farm Show on March 4th and 5th at Eau Claire?s Indoor Sports Center.I spoke with Steve Henry, of the family owned North Country Enterprises, and he said the Farm Show is the second longest running and has been called, ?the granddaddy of farm shows.?
Mr. Henry was very excited about a new program being introduced to this year?s show. The America?s Farmers Grow Communities Program, which will give nine area non-profit organizations $2,500 from the Monsanto Fund.
The presentation is scheduled for the opening day at 10AM and this program was launched in 2010 and allows eligible farmers in 56 Wisconsin counties to recommend farm and civic groups such as 4-H, FFA, schools, and fire departments for cash awards. Some FFA?s in our area include Loyal, Osseo-Fairchild and Medford. The Jackson County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers will also receive funds.
