44th Annual Neillsville Winter Carnival, Final

-The 44th Annual Neillsville Winter Carnival is happening this week.Deanna Heiman, Executive Director of the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce, talked about some of the events returning to this year?s carnival.
Deanna said, "The card tournaments will resume Sunday afternoon with a Sheepshead Tournament at the Legion at 1pm. The Winter Carnival Committee is happy to welcome the Big Hairy Deal back to this year's event. The Big Hairy Deal is a benefit for Locks of Love, Pantene Beautiful Lengths and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. The benefit will be held at the Neillsville Fieldhouse from 1 until 3pm on Sunday and activities will include a DJ, games, prizes and raffles. To round out the day, the Neillsville Rec Department will be sponsoring a free family open swim on Sunday from 1:30 until 4pm at the school pool."
Deanna believes the wide variety of events going on is what brings people back to the carnival year after year.
"I think that because of the fact that there are activities of all different types that appeal to all different age groups, I think that is one of the things we can credit Winter Carnivals longevity for," said Deanna. "We try to keep that same spirit surrounding the event every year and this being the 44th Annual Winter Carnival, I think we've been pretty successful."
