BREAKING, UPDATE #3, NEILLSVILLE WATER: Boil/Bottled Water Advisory May Last Until Next Week
Friday, February 14th, 2014 -- 1:47 PM
-We have some more information for you on the water situation in Neillsville. The break occurred near West Second and Oak Streets and it did drain on of the city?s two water towers. The Neillsville School District was out of water by 3pm yesterday afternoon.
Two breaks have been repaired and water has been restored to most of the city. However, there is still a large one they?re looking for. It?s difficult to find because the water isn?t bubbling up to the street, it?s draining into the sewer. At least 250,000 gallons have been lost so far.
The city is still under the Boil/Bottled Water Advisory until tests have been completed on the water to see if it was contaminated. The water is currently unfit for consumption. It could be sometime next week before the advisory is lifted.
Also, Grassland Dairy Products and Lynn Dairy are trucking in clean water to Memorial Medical Center for patient care. Also, Shopko in Neillsville is trucking in bottled water to MMC for patient use.
Memorial Medical Center extends the deepest thanks and appreciation to Grassland Dairy Products, Lynn Dairy and Shopko Hometown.
