-The Neillsville Chamber of Commerce held their recognition banquet on Saturday night at the Neillsville American Legion.Dr. Greg Foster, the presenter of the awards, talked about the Special Business Salute Award Winner, Marty?s Foods.
"Our special business salute award honors not only a business, but its very deserving owners as well," said Dr. Foster. "Terry and Annette Marty are both Neillsville natives and were high school sweethearts. Together they opened Marty's Supermarket in 1987, with Terry joking it was Annette's wedding present. Over the years, their store's exceptional service built a loyal following of customers who knew Terry would make deliveries to the home bound or bend over backwards to stock whatever they needed. Late last year, after running a successful enterprise for nearly three decades, they made the decision to sell the business and spend more time enjoying life with their extended family."
Terry Marty was very grateful for the award.
Terry said, "I just want to thank everybody. I've done this business for 42 years. It's something in my blood, I loved it. My wife and I owned it for 27 years. You don't do something you don't like and it's still apart of me. I bless my children. My two daughters that had to put up with their father that's a workaholic. They've had fond memories."
Congratulations to Terry and Annette Marty of Marty?s Family Foods.
