Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 -- 1:29 PM
-Representative Bob Kulp discussed many topics during a listening session held in Marshfield last week.Representative Kulp talked about the different things local school districts are doing to get students more interested in the trades.
Representative Kulp said, "I had a conversation a month or so ago with the shop teacher in Loyal. He has a real passion to start putting things together in a systematic way to train people. NTC is working with Spencer very well in regards to A&B Process Systems. Last week, I was at the Wisconsin Association of School Board Professionals, I was there for my roofing business, but Auburndale had a booth where they actually make sausage and all kinds of things in the school there. And they have a very vibrant teaching class and the kids were excited about it. That vision is what I see expanding and giving the support it needs in order to make that happen."
Representative Kulp is a business owner in Stratford and was elected to replace Scott Suder at the end of last year after his resignation.
