Greenwood FBLA Hosts 2014 Region II Leadership Conference

Monday, February 3rd, 2014 -- 11:17 AM

-The Greenwood School District and FBLA class played host to the 2014 Region II Leadership Conference on Saturday.

I spoke with Megan Cramer the Region II Vice President and she told me how Greenwood was able to host the event.

Megan said, "It started out with me running for a state officer position. So, I ran for the Region II Vice President Position at this event last year, so they're all in this mess because of me! (Megan jokingly threw that last bit in during our conversation.) I was able to use my chapter to get all these things done, so they've been a great support throughout the year."

Megan said there have been many challenges in getting the event put together.

"Weather has been huge. -50 days doesn't work for us," Megan said, "Getting judges was a little bit of a challenge just because we need so many people who are qualified for that position. And a lot of it is just communication because not everyone answers e-mails, but otherwise its been really smooth sailing and its been a really good experience for us."

When I asked Megan if she thought everyone was having a good time, this was her response.

Megan laughed, "Well, I hope so! I ran a workshop and they were all laughing and having a good time so, that was great. We're doing a lot of things trying to make it more preppy this year, so hopefully, everyone will walk out of here talking about how great Region II is."

22 schools competed in the Region II Leadership Conference.
