Pedestrian Deaths Up In January
Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 -- 8:15 AM
The number of pedestrians killed in Wisconsin in January is up significantly from last January.According to preliminary numbers from the DOT, seven pedestrian deaths have occurred in 2014; in 2013, two pedestrians were killed during the month of January.
A few of this year's incidents happened when people got out of their vehicles, after a run-off or breakdown, and were then hit by another vehicle.
Safety officials remind drivers who experience problems during winter weather, to stay in their vehicle - when it's safe to do so - call 911 and wait for emergency assistance.
