Listening Session with Representative Bob Kulp, Part 3
Thursday, January 30th, 2014 -- 8:47 AM
-The newly elected Representative of the 69th District, Bob Kulp, held listening sessions throughout the area on Monday.I attended Representative Kulp?s session at the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry office and listened as he addressed the concerns of citizens and asked him a few questions.
Representative Kulp said he was satisfied with Governor Walker?s plans with the budget surplus.
"I think giving back the money to those people that paid it in makes a lot of sense," said Representative Kulp. "Really, it's the peoples money. The people are the ones who should be getting it back. You can make arguments about paying down debt and there's a lot of issues on the fiscal side. And I think the equal distribution of it across the state with the tech colleges, I don't know how much you understand or care about that, but the tech colleges, the levy is proposed to be lowered by .89. That gives you a straight across the state equal distribution and doesn't punish tech colleges that have less of a levy. Plus, the governor has another $35 million for workforce development."
Representative Kulp is a business owner in Stratford and was elected to replace Scott Suder at the end of last year after his resignation.
