Clark County Schools Forum

-On Monday, January 27th, the school districts of Clark County will be holding the Clark County Schools Forum at the Owen-Withee High School from 6:30pm to 9pm.I spoke with Deanna Heiman, Board Clerk for the Neillsville School Board, and she discussed the purpose of the forum.
Deanna said, "The group became more focused on using the forums as an opportunity to expand our knowledge on educational topics as well as to identify ways we could have a positive impact on education in Clark County. The main purpose of the forum on January 27th is to focus on building channels of communication with our legislators, specifically Senator Terry Moulton and Representative Bob Kulp."
Deanna informed me about the topics that will be discussed at the County Schools Forum.
Deanna continued, "For the first portion of the meeting, prior to the arrival of Senator Moulton and Representative Kulp, the group will discuss their approach to legislative advocacy because that was one of the goals we have established and exactly what they wish to accomplish in their interaction with the two legislators. And following the discussion with the senator and representative, we'll review our list of goals and determine our priorities for the coming year."
By holding a forum like this and hearing all the positive things happening in the local school districts, it helps the board work together and put a collaborative effort together to meet the challenges rural schools face.
Deanna said, "It's very encouraging to hear positive things that are happening in Clark County Schools and when we gather together it gives us an opportunity to discuss how to combine those efforts to affect positive change on all the kids in Clark County. And, as they say, there is strength in numbers so, hopefully, our work together will be beneficial."
Once again, the forum is being held in the Owen-Withee Library on Monday, January 27th starting at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
