A Marshfield man appeared in Wood County Court on Thursday for child abuse.According to court records, an investigation began into the incident, involving 21-year-old Sebastian Suchomel and his child, on October 24th after the 11-week-old was taken to the doctor with multiple fractures.
The child had two fractures to its left arm, three fractured ribs, and a possible fracture to its leg. A doctor said these types of injuries to the limbs is consistent with constant yanking or pulling being done to them. The injuries to the ribs are consistent with the chest being squeezed or pushed to tightly.
Suchomel said he may have held the child too tightly and he has been charged with two felonies for abusing the child. Probable cause was found during the preliminary hearing on Thursday and Suchomel will appear back in court in March.
Suchomel is currently in the Wood County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond may spend 30 years in prison for the abuse.
