Memorial Medical Center No Longer Delivering Babies
Friday, January 17th, 2014 -- 1:32 PM
-Memorial Medical Center will no longer be delivering babies at our facility. This decision was made through an intensive strategic planning process in late 2013.From this process, it was deemed best that the facility no longer delivers babies on site at MMC. This will be effective on February 15. Some of the reasons include the challenges of recruiting OB/GYN Physicians to rural medical centers, the declining numbers of baby deliveries at MMC, the ability of MMC to maintain integrity of services at the highest level and collaboration with other facilities will maximize MMC?s ability to best care for and serve you.
?Our medical providers will be working with their expecting moms very interactively to ease the transition of this change,? stated Lisa Montgomery, Business Development & Marketing Manager.
MMC can and will continue to provide all patients prenatal and postnatal care; this includes prenatal classes and lactation consultant support. Memorial Medical Center will continue to provide both pediatric services and emergency obstetrics delivery services in the ER.
