Edgar Teen Reaches Plea Deal for Accident

-An Edgar teen appeared in Marathon County Court on Wednesday for an accident he caused that sent him and two of his friends to the hospital.Back in May, 17-year-old Nathan Koller of Edgar was driving down County Highway M, northeast of Stratford, with two friends when he lost control of the vehicle. Speed and alcohol were factors in the incident and none of the teens were wearing a seatbelt.
Koller was airlifted to Ministry St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield where he spent some time in a coma and had to have his broken back mended. His passengers, 18-year-old Cody Wallis of Marshfield and 18-year-old Kayla Burtch of Stratford were hospitalized for minor injuries.
Koller had five charges filed against him all dealing with recklessly endangering safety and OWI causing injury.
Koller originally entered a not guilty plea to the charges, but at a court appearance on Wednesday, a deal was reached and he will now have a plea/sentencing hearing on February 6th.
