Governor Scott Walker Talks More Tax Cuts While in Stratford.

Thursday, January 16th, 2014 -- 9:18 AM

-(Mike Warren, WDLB) Governor Scott Walker may be eyeing another round of tax cuts, following reports projected tax collections for the current budget are much higher than expected.

During a stop at A-and-B Process Systems in Stratford Wednesday, Walker told workers that companies like their employer are responsible for that.

Governor Walker said, "And it's happening because the economy is improving better than we expected. More people are working. More businesses are hiring. And the other good piece, the third component, is more people are earning more money than they did before."

The governor says increased revenue numbers are largely the result of personal income going up in the state.

Governor Walker said, "That means that not only are more people going back to work, but they're earning more, more personal income, more household income. That's a good thing that's helping the economy and that's why we see the better than expected revenue numbers."

Walker said Wednesday that he could propose both property and income tax cuts in his upcoming State of the State Address, which takes place next week.
