-The Owen-Withee School Board heard a presentation at their meeting on Monday.Mrs. Gloria Sopiarz, Dominic Anderson and Michael Miller did a presentation for the board on the corporation they have started that is integrated into their education.
The corporation offers the boys a chance to experience teamwork, communication, transition skills, health and hygiene, as well as math, language arts, reading and the soft skills needed in the work place.
Dominic and Michael used this presentation as practice as they have been asked to present at the Wisconsin Transition Conference in Wisconsin Dells in February.
In old business matters, the board had requested a list of the maintenance items that were not completed this past summer due to lack of funding available.
District Administrator Bob Houts gave them the list, mostly higher cost items, like sidewalk repair for $25,000, roof repair for $75,000, blacktop repair for $40,000, interior door lock replacement for $25,000, exterior electronic door lock replacement for $25,000 and heating system upgrades for the high school at $30,000.
