Snowstorm Stronger than Originally Expected
Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 -- 8:16 AM
-Yesterday?s surprisingly intense snowstorm has moved out of the area leaving several inches of snow that now will be cleaned up and removed to get things back to normal. The storm was part of an Alberta Clipper, which is named that way because they originate around Alberta, Canada, and ended up being more powerful than originally expected. Several of these storms pass through every Winter and can drop anywhere from 1?-5? of snow.
This storm was under constant surveillance as it approached and came through Wisconsin, but at the last minute it received a very strong piece of energy which caused it to move slower and dump far more snow on us than what was originally expected.
Another clipper is expected to arrive tonight and into Thursday, but this one is expected to stay up north and will only result in an inch or two of snow.
