Charges Expected Against Marshfield Man Accused of Killing His Dog

-A Marshfield man is expected to be charged with mistreating an animal after he allegedly killed his dog.According to Marshfield authorities, 27-year-old Michael Loftus was walking his dog on November 27th when he killed the animal by breaking its neck.
Loftus left the dog in a wooded area where authorities later discovered the body. Loftus also said he took a picture of the animal and sent it to a family member.
Authorities are unclear as to the motive behind the man?s actions, but, if he?s convicted of the charges, he could face 3.5 years in prison.
