Dangerously cold arctic air is pouring into the region today into Tuesday...A wind chill advisory is in effect until 6 pm this evening and then a wind chill warning is in effect from 6 pm this evening thru noon on Tuesday.
The combination of temperatures in the single digits below zero and northwest winds of 15-25 mph will produce dangerously cold wind chills of 20-35 below zero today.
Temperatures will drop and winds increase into Monday leading to life-threatening wind chills of 35 to 60 below zero. These dangerously cold wind chills will persist through Tuesday morning.
If you must venture out, be sure to dress appropriately and in layers to protect against the bitter cold. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur in as little as 30 minutes or less in these conditions.
