Child in Roof Collapse Near Boyd Taken Off Life Support

-One of the children seriously hurt on a farm near Boyd has been removed from life support.The accident happened Saturday afternoon on 320th Street near Boyd. According to the Chippewa County Sheriff?s Department, 7-year-old Norma Nolt and her brother, 10-year-old Nelson Nolt, were sitting on top of a skid steer in a silo room, when snow fell from the barn onto the silo room roof, causing into to collapse.
The children were pinned underneath the large beams of the roof and their father used another skid steer to life the beams and free them when he discovered the accident about 10 minutes after it happened.
The children were sent to an Eau Claire hospital and then later transferred to a hospital in Rochester, Minnesota in serious condition. The Chippewa County Sheriff was informed by the children?s father that Nelson Nolt was taken off of life support and he has passed away. A wake and funeral is scheduled for January 3rd.
Norma Nolt is still on life support and in serious condition.
