Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves 2021 County Budget

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the 2021 County Budget at their recent meeting.
For 2021, the county will see a levy of $18,073,330. This is an increase of $252,904 over last year. This equals a mil rate of 8.04 or $804 for a $100,000 home. The levy also includes $2,940,000 for road construction and remodeling cells in the jail. $40,000 would be used for the jail cells and the remaining balance for road construction. The board also approved a few amendments to the budget including $2,000 was added to the Maintenance budget for a horse hitching post, $58,400 was added to the Maintenance budget for a secured single point entrance and $40,000 was added to the Circuit Court budget for Court appointed counsel for CHIPS and JHIPS or Social Services cases.
There were two other amendments that didn’t pass. Those amendments were to eliminate a new part-time position in Emergency Management and a new position in Public Health. Some other budget resolutions approved include the authorizing borrowing and issuing of a promissory note for the 2021 budget; they approved the 2021 county aid for bridge and culvert construction; approved the designation of committed fund accounts; the board also approved the ratification of collective bargaining agreement between Clark County and Teamster Union Local 662 and 662-Courthouse. Finally, they approved the 2021 Non-Union Base Wage Increases.
