"Veteran" Designator Available on Driver's License
Saturday, November 30th, 2013 -- 9:23 AM
Beginning Monday, veterans can request that their Wisconsin Driver's License or ID Card carry a special veteran "identifier."Qualified persons can have the word "veteran" marked in red added to their license or ID card. The goal is to make it easier for veterans to access various programs and services without having to carry additional documentation.
Before heading off to the Division of Motor Vehicles, veterans need to first verify their eligibility for the new identifier. The easiest way to do so is to call the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs at 1-800-WIS-VETS.
Remember that the standard driver's license and ID card fees still apply.
