Thanksgiving Meal Likely To Cost Less

Your Thanksgiving meal will likely cost less to prepare this month when compared to the previous year's holiday.According to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, a traditional holiday meal for a family of ten will cost around $48.40--which is down 48-cents from last year's average and $1.77 below 2011. The annual survey had been inching higher for each of the past nine years, with the exception of 2009 when lower dairy and onion prices brought the average down.
The Madison-based farm group conducted its survey of 12 food items of the traditional Thanksgiving meal in 21 communities across Wisconsin. Communications Coordinator Amy Manske says the retail cost of the turkey was slightly higher than in 2012, but that doesn't have to affect your pocketbook.
