-The Neillsville City Council discussed a piece of nuisance property at their meeting on Tuesday. There was discussion on the 303 W. 15th St. property and according to council member Chuck Glassbrenner, nothing has been done and the city will probably end up tearing it down. The owner of the property is receiving nuisance citations weekly until something is done. The council gave approval to the city attorney to do a title search to look into the process for a raze order.
Also at Tuesday night?s council meeting police chief Brad Lindner reported that there were 124 applicants for the vacant city police officer position and that they had narrowed that number down to 8. They are looking to start interviews with the Police and Fire Board next week with those individuals.
Chief Lindner also mentioned that 3 businesses had been shot at over the last several months in Neillsville and he believes that someone from the area is responsible but he had no more information.
The council also approved the rescheduling of their December meeting to Monday, Dec. 23rd instead of Tuesday, Dec. 24th.
